About Us

We have been creatively working with concrete since 1997. While we’ve poured many concrete retaining walls over the years, we have constantly tried to make them look like something other than, well, a gray concrete wall. We’ve tried texturing the concrete, coloring the concrete, texturing and coloring the concrete--all with various degrees of success. The best results we’ve obtained have come from applying a veneer of cultured stone to the wall after the wall is in place-- but this tends to be messy and time-consuming, which translates into more expensive. More expensive for us and the customer. We have always been impressed with the ease and speed with which the concrete-block type retaining walls go up but, again, NOT aesthetically pleasing.

We were back to square one (a concrete square literally) when we had our moment of inspiration; “Hey, we could make a mortarless block with a cultured stone face.” This innovative block would result in a retaining wall system that combined the best of all the walls we’ve ever built! Finally, a concrete wall, with the installation ease and speed of block, but with the beauty of cultured stone. After countless trials, and more than a few errors, we have achieved our creative concrete goal.

What we do

We at CAPP, Inc., are a fully integrated manufacturer of  pre-cast, concrete products.   We offer our premier product line, the Z-Block© retaining wall system, as an attractive, structurally sound, cost-effective alternative to the natural or cultured stone walls.  Through superior engineering, we have successfully merged the strength and simplicity of a concrete block, with the increasingly desired appearance of a cultured stone veneer, at a much lower cost!

The easy one-step installation of Z-Block© makes it perfect for the novice weekend home improvement project. Professional installers will appreciate the fast set up, easy clean-up, and profitability of the Z-Block© system. Engineering strength data from SGI, an independent lab, is available for the engineering professional.  Test data is available using 2XT, 3XT and 5XT Miragrid geogrid fabrics for wall heights up to 12.5 feet.

Combining proven reliability with beauty that rivals natural stone, engineers at CAPP, Inc. are able achieve the look of a stacked-stone wall with our unique Z-bend block.  On the vertical sides, the vertical joint lines of the Z-Block© virtually disappear while retaining the 8” increase in wall height for every row. Color variance of Z-Block© is our key to the aesthetic beauty of each wall. We also have a full-time artist on staff for any custom design work you may need.  Z-Block© retaining wall systems create lasting landscapes that complement any outdoor environment.
